The Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A.) at Sathya Saai Arts and Science College for Women is a dynamic undergraduate program affiliated with Annamalai University. The B.C.A. programme is structured under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and spans six semesters. It includes major subjects such as Programming in C, C++, Java, Python, Data Structures, Operating Systems, DBMS, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, and Web Development. The course balances both theory and extensive practical training.
Each semester features core papers, allied subjects, practical labs, and non-major electives designed to provide a 360-degree understanding of computing. Students also explore **Office Automation, Mobile App Development**, and **Cloud Technologies** to enhance their digital skillset.
To complement the technical subjects, courses in Environmental Studies, Soft Skills, and Professional English are also included. ICT-enabled teaching, group projects, and industry-relevant tools ensure that graduates are career-ready and technologically up-to-date.
B.C.A. graduates have wide-ranging opportunities in sectors like software development, web design, IT support, cybersecurity, app development, and data management. They can work as software developers, web programmers, system administrators, technical analysts, or testers in reputed IT companies and startups.
Students can also pursue higher education such as M.C.A., M.Sc. (IT), M.B.A. (IT), and specialized diplomas in Cloud Computing, Data Science, AI/ML, and Ethical Hacking. Competitive exams for public sector and teaching jobs are also viable options.
